Friday January 4
Even with limited space Racing was close and fast. The
Monsters were grabbing some BIG air off the table top that was in
place for Racing. Some of the new faces were running at the
top of their game and took out Bigfoot early, but Runte was running
strong too, coming back as the Fast Loser in the Semi-Finals.
Having lost again though, Bigfoot advanced to (and later won) the
Finals because of breakage to the truck who beat him in the Semis!
Talk about luck, sometimes it's a good thing to have on your side!
Freestyle was good, and
again even with the Arenacross track setup the CFP Crew was able to
work well with the limited amount of space provided. A car
stack was placed on top of the table top, but the highlight was a
full blown Cargo Container stack in the middle of the arena!
Everybody had strong showings in Freestyle, especially Steven Hill
in Monkey'n Around who was the ONLY one able to get a donut going
all night. But the real big moment came when Dan Runte took
Bigfoot over the Cargo Container, only to trip the rear end over the
top and took a nose dive off of it. Thankfully Runte was able
to get on the gas in the Summit Racing sponsored Bigfoot truck and
drive out of an end over end roll. The crowd was well behind
Runte and Bigfoot. Needless to say, the Freestyle winner was
Dan Runte and Bigfoot!

Saturday January 5
The Racing
action on Saturday night was just as fierce as the previous night,
if not even more so! The real shocker of the Racing brackets
came when the two who met in the Finals were fresh new faces to the
CFP tour. Get'Er'Done and War Eagle met up in the Final Round,
with Get'Er'Done taking the win! Unfortunately for Dan Runte
and Bigfoot the same Racing luck he had the night before would not
be with him on Saturday night, as he finished in 5th place out of 6
for Racing. Havoc, the team truck to Get'Er'Done advanced
through to in the Semis to finish 3rd, as well as Dream Catcher who
finished 4th.
Freestyle
Saturday night featured not only 2 pyramids, but 3 for the Monsters
to work with! Dream Catcher and War Eagle started off
Freestyle with some good hits around the floor, but War Eagle had
its run cut short when a small fire erupted (the fire was quickly
extinguished and only very minor damage suffered). Monkey'n
Around continued the good Freestyles with some good hits on the cars
and another good donut - his second of the weekend. Not to be
outdone, Havoc followed suit and finished up with a donut as well.
Second to last was Get'Er'Done with a high flying fast paced run.
Last out again
would be Dan Runte in Bigfoot. Dan rounded out the Freestyle
order with some big jumps over the cars. Not to be outdone Dan
cut a wicked donut towards the end of his run - the third of the
night overall. Although it seemed like he was done, Dan headed
for the Cargo Container in the middle of the arena, which had long
approaches to it. Dan got up it, but started sliding off the
side. Bigfoot slid and the right side of the truck dropped a
good distance down to the dirt, looking as if the truck would flop
over. But Dan held in the gas and drove out of the situation,
making for an INCREDIBLE save for the small space he had to work
with. With that move, the crowd went CRAZY. Once again, needless to say, the Freestyle winner was
none other than Dan Runte and Bigfoot!
